Terms of service

Effective 8/21/2025

These Terms & Conditions outline the understanding between Love Officially (“Officiant”) and the couple (“Client”). By booking officiant services, you agree to the following:

Services

  • The Officiant will provide wedding ceremony services as agreed upon at booking.

  • Services may include ceremony customization, rehearsal attendance (if selected), travel to the ceremony location, and completion of the marriage license.

  • The Officiant does not provide wedding planning, day-of coordination, or other vendor services unless explicitly stated.

Booking & Payments

  • A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your date.

  • The remaining balance is due no later than five (5) days before the ceremony.

  • Payments not received on time may result in cancellation of services.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • Deposits are non-refundable.

  • If cancellation occurs five (5) days or fewer before the ceremony date, the full balance will still be due and no refund will be provided.

  • Rescheduling is subject to the Officiant’s availability. A rescheduling fee may apply.

  • If the Officiant must cancel due to illness, emergency, or unforeseen circumstances, every effort will be made to provide a qualified replacement. If no replacement is available, all payments (including the deposit) will be refunded in full.

Travel & Additional Costs

  • Travel within 10 miles of Laurel, Maryland is included.

  • Travel beyond 10 miles will be billed at $1 per mile (round trip).

  • Additional fees may apply for extended travel, parking, tolls, or lodging when required.

  • Holiday or late-night ceremonies may be subject to additional rates.

Client Responsibilities

  • Clients must obtain a valid marriage license and present it prior to the ceremony.

  • The Officiant cannot perform the ceremony without a valid license.

  • Clients are responsible for providing accurate details (location, date, time, and ceremony preferences) and for ensuring the ceremony space is safe.

Ceremony Conduct

  • The Officiant reserves the right to withhold services if participants are excessively intoxicated, disorderly, or if conditions are unsafe.

  • Ceremonies may be personalized within agreed guidelines. The Officiant maintains the right to decline any requests that conflict with personal, legal, or ethical standards.

Marriage License

  • The Officiant will complete and, if agreed upon, return the signed marriage license to the appropriate clerk’s office.

  • The Officiant is not responsible for delays or errors caused by the postal service, government offices, or clients failing to apply for a license in time.

Liability

  • The Officiant will act in good faith and with professionalism.

  • The Officiant is not liable for events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to venue issues, weather, transportation delays, or government processing delays.

Governing Law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Maryland. Any disputes will first be addressed through good-faith discussion and, if needed, mediation.
