Terms of service

1. Scope of Services
The Notary Loft provides professional notarial and signing services, including but not limited to: general notary work, loan signing services, document packages, child consent/travel authorizations, witness services, and related add-on services (such as extra seals).
I am not an attorney and cannot provide legal advice. At no time will I interpret or explain the contents of any document, instruct you on how to complete a document, or advise you of your legal rights. If you need legal advice, you should consult with a licensed attorney.
2. Eligibility
All signers must be at least 18 years of age.
All signers must present a valid, government-issued photo ID at the time of service.
Services are subject to the laws and requirements of the State of Maryland and applicable federal law.
3. Scheduling & Availability
Appointments must be booked through the official booking system.
The Notary Loft reserves the right to decline, adjust, or reschedule appointments for compliance or availability reasons.
Documents for notarization must be provided in advance:
General notarizations: at least 2 hours before the appointment.
Loan signing packages: at least 4 hours before the appointment.
4. Fees & Payments
All fees comply with Maryland state requirements and may include reasonable administrative or processing fees.
Fees are due in full at the time of booking.
Additional charges may apply for add-on services (such as extra seals, additional witnesses, or package upgrades).
Payments are non-refundable if the signer fails to appear for the scheduled session.
5. Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for providing complete and accurate documents prior to the appointment.
Clients must ensure they have stable internet and audio/video access for remote sessions.
Clients may provide their own witness(es), but this must be communicated at the time of booking.
6. Witness Services
Witnesses may be arranged by the client. The Notary Loft does not guarantee the availability of additional witnesses beyond the notary.
Any client-provided witness must meet legal eligibility requirements.
7. Document Handling
Documents will not be reviewed for legal accuracy, validity, or completeness.
The notary may refuse to notarize any document that appears incomplete, fraudulent, or unlawful.
Completed notarizations will be returned electronically or as otherwise agreed with the client.
8. Privacy & Recordkeeping
All sessions are recorded and journaled when required by law.
Identification and notarial records will be stored securely in compliance with Maryland law.
Client information is kept confidential and only used for lawful purposes.
9. Cancellations, Refunds & No-Shows
Clients may cancel appointments at least 24 hours in advance for a refund.
Cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment are non-refundable.
Rescheduling is permitted if requested at least 2 hours before the scheduled time.
Clients who are more than 10 minutes late will be considered a no-show, and fees will not be refunded.
10. Limitations of Liability
The Notary Loft is not responsible for:
A client’s failure to understand, complete, or properly prepare documents.
Delays caused by client technology or connectivity issues.
Rejection of notarized documents by third parties (unless the rejection is due to notary error).
11. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Maryland.
12. Acknowledgment
By booking an appointment, the client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
